The typical drinks of Menorca are an important part of the island’s culture and tradition.

They are drinks that have been passed down from generation to generation and are still consumed today on special occasions and festivities.

Several municipalities have made municipal ordinances for citizen coexistence and urban landscape, with the aim of ensuring and preserving the correct development of the festivities in the different commercial establishments. So much so that they cannot have bars outside the shops occupying public roads without the express authorization of the Consistory.

So much so, that some municipalities warn establishments with these ordinances that the use of plastic containers is strictly prohibited, and that those premises that sell food and drinks to be consumed outside the premises, must use cardboard cups, or another type of biodegradable material, for ecological and safety reasons.
