Easter Sunday is the central feast of Christianity, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus on the third day after the crucifixion, thus ending the Easter triduum. The celebration extends for eight days until the Octave of Easter and marks the end of Holy Week, kicking off the Easter season that ends with Pentecost Sunday.

Easter Sunday marks the beginning of the Processions of the Encounter in some parishes of the municipalities of Menorca. In the church of Santa Eulàlia de Alaior, in the parish of Sant Cristòfol de Es Migjorn and in the parish of Sant Climent, these processions coincide in schedule. A little earlier, it takes place in the parish of the Mare de Déu del Roser in Es Castell. The last to begin is in the parish of Sant Martí de Es Mercadal. In Maó, the procession begins with a departure from the church of the Conceptionists, ending its route in the place where the Meeting takes place.

In most of the parishes where the Processons de l’Encontre are celebrated, the tradition of singing the Deixem lo Dol and the Regina is also maintained.
